County approves release of surplus tax-deed auction funds to claimants and unclaimed balance to state

Treasurer's Office staff Kelly Weist told the board the county received timely claims for five parcels and requested approval to release surplus funds to those claimants; the board approved the release. Weist also requested approval to transfer remaining unclaimed surplus funds from the auction to the state of Idaho, noting staff received no claims for the remaining amounts; the board approved that transfer as well.
Weist confirmed that all timely claims for the five parcels had been received and that the balance of unclaimed funds should be remitted to the state as provided by statute and county practice.
