Bowling Green council swears in members and elects leadership

Bowling Green City Council opened a meeting with the formal swearing-in of newly elected and returning members and then elected its officers for the term.
William Harold, Mark Hollenbach, Jordan Musgrave, Joel O'Dorisio, Kathleen Dennis and Caitlin Elliott each repeated the oath of office and were sworn as members of the Bowling Green City Council. After the oaths, a motion was made to appoint Mark Hollenbach as council president; the motion was seconded and carried on a roll-call vote. A separate motion to appoint Jeff Dennis as president pro tem also was moved, seconded and approved.
Mayor [title used in transcript] offered congratulations to new and returning members and urged collaboration for the coming term, saying, "I look forward to working with you in the coming term". Council members were asked to submit committee preferences so appointments can be finalized later in the week.
No new legislation was introduced during the reorganization portion of the meeting. The council approved the minutes from its Dec. 15 meeting by voice vote and completed a routine roll call of members present before proceeding with other business.
The meeting concluded after brief closing remarks and a motion to adjourn that carried by voice vote.
