Staff estimated the truck has about 171,000 miles; commissioners noted radios and many red lights would remain in place so the acquiring department would not incur those retrofit costs. The vehicle price discussed at the meeting was $9,500.
Commissioners approved the transfer by voice vote with a second and recorded that the county council must appropriate funds before final payment. The EMS representative later noted crews were dispatched during the meeting window, underscoring potential operational need.
Next steps: staff will seek council appropriation and finalize the transfer paperwork. If council approval is not secured, the transfer will not be completed.
