A resident told the Village of East Troy board on Monday she strongly supports Victor and Magnolia Stanfords’ renovation of 2954 Main Street and pushed the board to be patient as the couple completes the work.
Jean Rosmarinoski, who identified herself as a neighbor at 2968 Main Street, said the Stanfords “took a blighted property off the village hands and are in the process of restoring it at considerable expense.” She said the project has encountered delays and “quite a lot of extra unplanned expenses” and that the couple deserves thanks for sticking with the work.
Rosmarinoski said she was troubled by comments she heard at the Nov. 3 and Nov. 17 village board meetings that she described as negative and, in some cases, “personal attacks on Victor.” She asked the board to be supportive and patient, and offered help: “If I hear any more unwarranted complaints, I will be back here supporting the Stanfords,” she said.
Rosmarinoski cited conversations with neighbors, saying Roger Rohr of 2958 Main Street told her he and his wife, Connie, had no complaints. She acknowledged isolated issues — one report of loud construction at 6–7 a.m. and some broken windows that she said Victor had fixed.
The board did not debate the renovation during Rosmarinoski’s public comment; the chair thanked her and the meeting moved on to the consent agenda.
Next steps: The Stanfords’ project was described in public comment only; the transcript does not show any formal action or a board decision on the property during this meeting.
