Hoffman Estates board approves consent agenda, accepts donations, continues Bell Works items

At its Jan. 5 meeting the Village Board approved the consent agenda without items pulled, adopting the schedule of bills totaling $4,602,167.85.
Mayor McLeod reported on recent community activities and acknowledged donations: "We wanna thank Mercedes Benz of Hoffman Estates for the generous donation" of a pallet of food to the Schaumburg Township food pantry and highlighted a two-day food drive by the Windy City Bulls that benefited local pantries. The board also approved a leave of absence for Catherine McCord from the Cultural Awareness Commission through April 1, 2026, and accepted with regret the resignation of Cindy Rizzay from the Sister Cities Commission.
Separately, trustees voted to continue two agenda items related to Bell Works — a site plan amendment for Bell Works Westside at 2000 Center Drive and an amended and restated redevelopment agreement for Bell Works Chicagoland involving Hoffman Estates Acquisitions LLC entities — to the next meeting for further consideration and review.
The meeting also included committee scheduling and brief departmental reports; the board adjourned after completing the agenda.
