Marshall County presents sweeping proposed updates to subdivision rules; public hearing draws residents' concerns

Marshall County commissioners heard a detailed presentation on proposed revisions to the county’s subdivision regulations during a Nov. 12 work session and public hearing.
Kevin Stubblefield, assistant county engineer, said the proposed changes would require developers to provide certified real-estate appraisals paid by the developer, unify the plat fee at $25 and adopt ALDOT definitions for average daily traffic (ADT). “We did add language requiring appraisals prepared by real estate property appraisers that the developer would need to pay for and do,” Stubblefield said.
