The Faribault Public School District board approved a construction contract recommendation on Jan. 5 to remodel the McKinley building into an alternative learning center (ALC).
Facilities staff and the district’s bid consultant (ISG) recommended Knutson Construction as the lowest responsive bidder with a base bid of $1,288,000. Finance staff and the chair presented the bid tabulation and ISG’s recommendation; board members expressed support for moving the project forward and approved the bid.
Board members thanked finance and facilities staff for the work on the project. The clerk and business office will complete contract documents, and staff said they will proceed with the procurement and contracting steps required to begin the remodel.
