At its Jan. 6 general session the Franklin County Board of Commissioners adopted multiple routine resolutions and journalized federal grant approvals. Key outcomes included:

• Resolution 1-26 — Elected Commissioner John O'Grady president of the board for 2026; adopted by voice/roll call (unanimous yes votes recorded in the transcript).

• Resolution 226 — Authorized a one-year contract (with four optional one-year renewals) with Veterinary Emergency Group LLC for after-hours and emergency animal medical care, not to exceed $160,000; adopted by roll call.

• Resolution 3-26 — Authorized a $20,000 evaluation contract with Mighty Crow Media LLC for the FY2022 opioid, stimulant and substance abuse program grant extension; adopted by roll call.

The clerk also journalized that HUD approved multiple FY2025 federal awards (Community Development Block Grant, Emergency Shelter Grant, HOME Investment Partnerships) and noted that the clerk's office is tracking agreements signed by the county administrator under delegated authority.
