Hampshire County Commission adopts 2026 meeting calendar, elects leaders and confirms board appointments

At its organizational meeting, the Hampshire County Commission elected Commissioner Bridal as commission president for 2026 and approved Commissioner Eglanger as vice chair.
The clerk presented a proposed regular-meeting calendar for 2026 (typically the second Tuesday at 9 a.m. and the fourth Tuesday at 6 p.m.) and explained scheduling exceptions for April’s levy-laying requirement, primary and general-election canvasses and early-voting room needs. Commissioners agreed the schedule mirrored past practice and voted to adopt the calendar.
Commissioners also reviewed committee and liaison assignments. The commission agreed to swap certain duties so Commissioner Mance will serve on the HCSA board and Commissioner Eglanger will serve on the Convention & Visitors Bureau and the county Health Department board; the commission moved, seconded and approved formal appointments and modifications.
Clerk noted the commission will call special meetings as needed and the clerk and assessor had reviewed the proposed calendar dates. The commission recessed briefly for public comment and adjourned after completing the 9:45 hearing and other business.
Next regular meetings were scheduled under the newly adopted 2026 calendar; commissioners directed the clerk to post any special meetings with appropriate notice.
