The Wheeling City Council on Jan. 6 adopted a resolution approving substantial amendments to the fiscal-year 2021, 2022 and 2024 annual action plans for Community Development Block Grant funds to support a resurfacing project on 12th Street/Grandview Avenue.

City Manager Herron said the amendments are time-sensitive because the funds date back several years and must be spent. He said the project will be advertised for bid on Jan. 14, with a bid opening scheduled for Feb. 25. If the council approves the forthcoming contract award, Herron said staff expects to return to council in March and begin construction in April.

Council moved and seconded the resolution; the clerk called the roll and the resolution was adopted with the recorded votes announced as 'Aye.' The council recorded no public speakers on this item during the meeting.

The resolution directs staff to proceed with the bid timeline and to bring recommended contract awards to the council for approval consistent with the adopted amendments.
