CLEVELAND, Texas — The Cleveland Airport Advisory Board on Jan. 6 welcomed newly appointed member Brian Stanford and received routine operational updates from airport manager Eric Galindo.
Brian Stanford described his background in aviation: "I started when I was about 14 years old... I spent 4 years in the Air Force as a turbine engine mechanic," and he said he now teaches and runs the aviation engineering program at Cleveland High School. Board members welcomed Stanford and noted the city council had voted him in.
Galindo gave several operational updates. He said the airport received an 8,000-gallon delivery of 100LL fuel and that tenants should pay hangar-rate invoices by the 10th to avoid late fees. He confirmed fuel prices at the meeting as $4.25 per gallon for 100LL and $3.55 per gallon for Jet A. He said the airport is "full and ready to take on people" after resupply.
Chair also raised a previously reported concern about a hangar relocated from Williams Airport and noted there has been discussion about which party is responsible for associated fees and costs; the person who relocated the hangar was not at the meeting but reportedly met with City staff.
On maintenance, Galindo said he would begin quarterly hangar inspections to identify issues such as sticking doors and trim problems, and he provided an email for maintenance reports: airportmaintenance@cleveland.texas.gov. Board members confirmed the reporting process provides follow-up and resolution status.
The board also approved the Nov. 6 minutes by voice vote earlier in the meeting.
