The chair told the board the change responds to "a lot of weather issues and a lot of staffing issues" experienced during the previous season. The board voted to open the pool on Father's Day weekend and again on Juneteenth weekend, and to close operations shortly after Labor Day.
The board also said it will continue to offer early morning adult lap swim and encouraged residents to consult the posted schedule for specific hours. Recreation staff were thanked in the meeting for organizing the schedule and will be tasked with posting finalized hours and signage before the season begins.
