At the Jan. 6 Mooresville Town Council meeting, Josh Selig of Banyan Engineering presented two change orders from Reed and Sons Construction for the Southern Sewer Improvements Phase 2 project. Selig said one change order covered a pump-around required when electricity issues affected the Crosby Road work, and the other covered replacing an eroded culvert adjacent to a new lift station where erosion had deepened the drain area.
Selig described the work needed to protect the lift station and said the quoted prices were reasonable compared with market rates he has seen. After brief technical questions from council members about valve sequencing and the culvert installation, a motion to approve both change orders was made, seconded and approved unanimously. The council recorded the approval and authorized signatures to complete the administrative paperwork.
The council asked staff to confirm invoice details and to execute any necessary contract documents to reflect the change orders.
