City administrator Scott presented the project report at the Jan. 6 Sebring commission meeting and outlined near-term procurement dates and environmental outreach steps.
Scott said the RFQ for architectural services has a submission date of Jan. 13. He also told the commission the RFP for the municipal golf course, originally due Jan. 12, would be amended to Jan. 19 to allow proposers time to review a boundary survey the city is still awaiting. "We are going to amend that date to January 19," Scott said.
On the environmental item, Scott reported that staff met with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission regarding Illinois pondweed and advised members of the public who wish to comment to contact FWC directly; commissioners agreed the city should publish a contact for the public to use. "Any members of the public who may have comment about Illinois PONDWEED should reach out to FWC and make those comments heard," Scott said.
Scott and staff said the purchasing department and city staff (Jamie) will post updated dates and RFQ/RFP documents on the city's website once the boundary survey is received. No action was required from the commission beyond approving schedule changes and outreach steps.
Next steps include posting the amended RFP deadline publicly and continuing coordination between the purchasing department and project staff.
