The Minnetonka Public School District board completed its organizational business Jan. 6, swearing in newly elected and re‑elected members, electing leadership and approving procedural items including the meeting calendar, committee assignments and routine designations.

Kim Marie Foss, previously serving as vice chair, was nominated and elected board chair after a motion and second. Dan Olson was nominated and elected vice chair. The board also approved Sally Brown as treasurer, Mike Remicall as clerk and Paul Bourgeois as deputy clerk/deputy treasurer; several of the nominees were not present but were noted by board members as having acknowledged the nominations.

Board members approved the calendar for regular meetings and study sessions (study sessions to occur the third Thursday of each month during the school year), set the salaries for board officers (unchanged), designated nine financial depositories and named the Sun Sailor as the district’s official newspaper for legal notices as required by statute. The board also designated WCCO as the official radio station for emergency announcements and approved CliftonLarsonAllen to serve as the district auditor, a position required by Minnesota statute.

Motions were moved, seconded and carried by voice vote for each organizational item; the meeting record shows no roll‑call tallies. The board indicated committee assignments were approved as presented, with flexibility for alternates to attend if primary members are unavailable. The board concluded organizational business and proceeded to other agenda items.
