Moorestown school board elects Mick Weeks president; Jackie Barnes named vice president

Mick Weeks was elected president of the Moorestown Township Public School District Board of Education during the board's reorganization meeting. A board member nominated Weeks, and a verbal roll-call vote recorded eight votes in favor and one against; Missus Miller cast the lone No vote. The motion carried and members offered congratulations.

Newly elected President Mick Weeks thanked his colleagues after the vote, saying, "Thanks very much, and, thank you to all my colleagues for the support." The board then nominated and elected Jackie Barnes as vice president; the roll-call responses recorded in sequence were all in favor and the motion carried.

The elections followed the administration of the oath of office to newly elected board members and the formal roll call earlier in the meeting. The reorganization session was procedural in nature and included routine administrative approvals later in the agenda. The board adjourned with the president noting members would reconvene toward the end of the month.
