Princeton council approves minutes and invoices, appoints Laura Gray; moves to executive session

The Princeton City Council handled routine business after the BDD presentation, approving prior minutes, authorizing payment of invoices and filling a Planning Commission vacancy before convening to executive session.

A councilor moved to approve the minutes from the Dec. 15, 2025 regular meeting, and the clerk called the roll; recorded affirmative votes included Councilor Benjamin, Gohman, McCall, Celeste Peak and Mary McGrath.

The clerk then presented invoices from multiple departments totaling $902,616.51 (streets, public safety, public property and other departmental totals were read into the record) and the council approved payment; the clerk recorded the roll as part of disposition.

A motion was made and seconded to appoint Laura Gray to the Planning Commission and Zoning Appeals to replace a vacancy through April 30, 2026; the motion was offered in open session and seconded. The transcript records the motion and second but does not include a separate roll call readout for that specific appointment in the recorded segments.

Toward the end of the meeting a councilor moved to adjourn the regular session and convene into executive session under state statute to discuss appointment, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees. The clerk called the roll on that motion and recorded unanimous 'Aye' votes from members present. The mayor adjourned the meeting and indicated the next regular council meeting will be Monday, Jan. 19, at 6 p.m. at City Hall.

The council also noted a brief set of announcements and follow‑up items to be handled in staff meetings, including an agreement that staff would meet Thursday to resolve a public speaker's outstanding invoice inquiry.
