Kiski Area SD board hears intermediate school construction progress, pending change orders and disclosure of related litigation review

The board was told a change-order packet for Lyakaris Construction will be on the meeting agenda; Dr. Lohr said the items primarily cover recent site concrete, a minor fence revision by the pond and the addition of a painted crosswalk in the new parking lot. "That's what's on the agenda for approval," he said, and invited board questions on the change-order narrative.
Board members also heard that the district is still waiting for a formal action plan from the general contractor to keep the schedule on track. Solicitor remarks later in the meeting disclosed that the board held an executive session earlier to discuss potential litigation related to the construction project referenced in the update.
No formal vote on the change orders or contract was recorded in the public portion of the meeting; the superintendent told the board staff will continue to pursue scheduling and funding details and will bring specific contract items back for formal board action as required.
The board also received a public notice that two firms responding to a guaranteed energy savings project (GESA) questionnaire will present to the public on Sept. 17.
