New off-track betting application for Skyfall 7 (operating as Turf Paradise) presented to Sierra Vista council

City staff told the Sierra Vista City Council that Skyfall 7 has applied for a new off-track betting permit to operate under the Turf Paradise name after Turf Paradise sold its off-track betting operation.
"Off-track betting permits are not transferrable. So this is actually an application for a new one," Ms. Adams said while presenting the staff report. She told council the police department conducted a background check of the applicant and the establishment and did not find negative impacts that would block the application.
Ms. Adams said the application will be edited for accuracy and posted on the city website; if the council votes to approve the resolution at its Thursday meeting, the matter will return to the gaming commission for final action. Ms. Adams also said that approved permits come back every three years for renewal and would appear on consent agendas at renewal time.
What happens next: staff will post an updated resolution and memo; if council approves Thursday, the gaming commission will consider the new permit application.
