Plano commission approves variance for Haggard Farm townhomes preliminary plat

The Planning and Zoning Commission approved a variance to allow more than 20 lots on one side of certain blocks in the Haggard Farm preliminary plat, 8-0. Staff said emergency services approved the plans and recommended the variance because of the lot shape and access constraints.
Molly Corio, lead planner for the City of Plano, told commissioners the applicant is seeking a variance to Subsection 5.2 of the subdivision ordinance that limits residential block faces to 1,200 feet or no more than 20 lots on one side.
