Commission appoints Angela Hawkins as Data Privacy CAO, approves board appointments and welcomes new IT specialist

Uinta County commissioners appointed Angela Hawkins as the county's Data Privacy Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and approved several board appointments and a staff introduction.
Under the county policy referenced as ordinance 10-01-202501, the commission announced Angela Hawkins will take on the additional responsibilities of Data Privacy CAO. A commissioner moved to approve Hawkins as the data privacy chief administrative officer and the commission unanimously recorded an affirmative vote.
The commission also announced at-large appointment Carl D. Morton to the Boundary Commission (term noted), and approved Jessica Briggs and Gabriela Salazar to complete terms on the Historic Preservation and Museum Advisory Board previously held by Lauren Anderson and Leanne Denzer, respectively. Commissioners thanked the appointees for stepping forward.
Crystal Clark, IT director, introduced Will Schafer as the county's new desktop and network support specialist. Schafer said he moved from Washington State to marry his wife and has lived in the county about a year.
Next steps: formal appointment paperwork will be completed; the Data Privacy CAO role will begin work as the county implements the new data-privacy program.
