Uinta County commissioners ratified a three-year service agreement to add enhanced workflow features to the county's iWORK permitting software.
Matt Kizzer of Community Development said the enhancement provides workflow automation that routes applications automatically to the appropriate staff and should reduce missed handoffs. The new features cost $3,000 per year with a $500 implementation fee for the first year (total $3,500 in year one). Kizzer said the county's portion currently paid was $10,500 and will increase to $13,500; an additional agency (Jess) is noted as paying $4,000 of the total share.
Commissioners discussed whether other departments (roads, fleet, motor pool) could be combined to obtain a better rate; Kizzer said he would check with those departments and pursue consolidation if feasible. An unidentified commissioner moved to ratify the iWORK service agreement and the motion passed with affirmative votes.
Next steps: Community Development will implement the enhanced workflows and coordinate with other departments to evaluate wider rollout and cost-sharing possibilities.
