Commissioners received project updates on courthouse renovations and annex construction at the Jan. 6 Wichita County meeting.

Commissioner Beecham said crews were trying to schedule a final punch walk for the Iowa Park project so the county can close out that job. County staff noted preliminary plans exist for the Burkburnett annex and that the office will put remaining work out for bids and prepare contracts for consideration. Commissioners praised the new park/extension office utilization and described the annex plans as modern with finishes intended to fit the community.

What’s next: staff will finalize contract language, publish bids where required, and bring architectural plans to the court for review prior to construction.
