A previously budgeted revenue source for 'safe baby court' (about $50,000) has been removed after the program ended. Hall said an ambulance ordered years ago is finally arriving and the county will add roughly $190,000 back into the ambulance fund that had been set aside in fund balance. In the landfill (116) fund, Hall reported a waste‑reduction grant of $30,008.12 and a used‑oil grant of $42,004.86. The health‑department construction (171) fund already budgeted $1,000,000 but has received an additional ~$686,000 in state receipts, Hall said.
Hall also described a $100,000 transfer from the general fund into fund 178 to support water projects and noted that some smaller utilities have required matches that the county budgeted to ensure project completion. Commissioners moved the amendment to the regular session after a motion by Commissioner Ledger and a second from Commissioner Spicer.
Hall emphasized that some of these are in‑and‑out reimbursement items from state sources and that staff will return with details on expenditures and any procurement steps required for the funded work.
Next steps: the formal budget amendment will be considered at the upcoming regular session; staff will provide line‑item detail and any contractual or procurement requests tied to funded projects.
