Dickson County commission approves several appointments, forwards budget and procurement items to regular session

The panel then approved Jackie Fayette as solid‑waste director after a motion from the floor and a unanimous voice vote. Tom Moore was reappointed as medical examiner; the commission recorded an 'aye' voice vote. Darryl James was also approved for reappointment to the water authority for a three‑year term after a motion by Commissioner Spicer and a second by Commissioner Buckner.
Several items were moved to the regular session for final action. Commissioner Ledger moved and Commissioner Spicer seconded a budget amendment to be placed on the regular agenda; the motion passed by voice vote. Procurement for a postage‑meter lease at the justice center was left on the agenda pending vendor cost estimates and was moved to regular session after a motion by Commissioner Grace and a second by Commissioner Simpkins.
Commissioners noted that many of these administrative items are routine but must appear on the formal agenda because leases longer than one year and certain appointments require full commission action. The work session concluded with scheduling and procedural remarks and an adjournment.
