WSU seeks formal lease for greenhouse space; county staff have draft agreement

County staff reported that Washington State University (WSU) has been occupying space behind Juvenile for greenhouses and on the expo grounds and that both parties are close to a draft lease. The prosecuting attorney's office has reviewed and prepared a draft and staff asked the board if it had a general consent to move forward.
A staff member said the PA's office “already been looking at and has a draft ... that both parties have already pretty much agreed to.” Commissioners indicated support for continuing to finalize the documentation.
The update was procedural: staff will continue work with WSU and return when final lease documents and signatures are ready.
