Commission approves routine items, tables ambulance bill and moves to executive session

At the Jan. 7 meeting the commission handled a series of routine but formal actions. After the roll call the commission added an executive session for a sheriff/personnel matter to the end of the agenda and voted to approve the agenda.
The commission unanimously approved business licenses for Darren Eastman and Rick Rosser for in-home online businesses after a motion and second. The commissioners also moved to approve the Dec. 10, 2025 meeting minutes and approved the presented expenditures.
On a citizen request asking for ambulance-bill forgiveness or a payment plan, commissioners discussed options including a negotiated payment plan and use of a National Association of Counties (NACo) tax-intercept program for outstanding ambulance invoices. The item was tabled for the next meeting so staff can develop payment options and present additional information.
Near the meeting’s close a motion to move into executive session for personnel matters was made, seconded and approved unanimously.
