Mayor Pro Tem Sidrick Hicks read the ordinance language and moved its adoption: "Adopt Ordinance Number 26-261U … extending urgency ordinance number 25-21U … for an additional 10 months and 15 days and declaring the urgency thereof," he read. Councilmember Dear asked whether further extensions were allowed at the end of that time; staff confirmed an extension could be considered later if needed. The motion was seconded and recorded as carried.
The ordinance preserves the status quo while the city completes a review of zoning rules applicable to car washes, and provides staff time to draft permanent regulations.
