TurboTax flagship launch: A representative of All Terrain Collective described an invite‑only, two‑part launch on Jan. 15: 4–7 p.m. at 463 Broadway (about 125 VIPs) and 7–10 p.m. at Soho Lofts (477 Broadway) with a streetscape linking the two sites, brief indoor musical performances (Anderson Paak, inside from about 9:25–9:55 p.m.) and a requested curb‑lane load‑in and temporary bathroom trailer on Mercer. The applicant provided a security plan showing eight security staff across the two venues, stanchioned queues and per‑minute check‑in to pace arrivals. The board approved the application but asked applicants to coordinate with local businesses, clarify queue management to avoid blocking adjacent entrances and share a final production schedule.
Lexa Gates activation: 6 Degrees Films applied for a curb closure and installation days for an album listening party at Jeffrey Deitch's gallery (18 Worcester St.) on Jan. 15 with Twitch/YouTube streaming and Capital Records providing security. Board members raised concerns about narrow sidewalks, the likelihood of attracting crowds and limited details on crowd control. The committee agreed to take a negative or conditional stance on the current proposal and asked the applicant to provide a stronger, detailed security and crowd‑management plan; the board asked staff to flag the application with NYPD enforcement channels.
The board also agreed to compile a prioritized list of long‑standing food‑truck and cart complaints (311 complaint numbers) to forward to DSNY enforcement.
