The Verona Plan Commission on Jan. 5 unanimously approved a site plan to allow construction of a 1,176‑square‑foot pre‑engineered metal‑clad storage building at 500 South 9 Mound Road.
Mister Severson explained that the proposed building lies on the northwest corner of Legion Street and South 9 Mound Road, adjacent to residential uses to the north and light industrial to the west. "The applicant has stated that they intend to use the building for storage only, and the building would not be occupied," he said, and staff confirmed the proposal meets setback, lot coverage and parking requirements for both the existing and proposed buildings.
Commissioner Hankard moved to approve the site plan; Commissioner Hernandez seconded the motion and the commission approved it by voice vote.
The approval included the site plan as presented; staff recommended granting approval and noted the applicant had proposed large shrubs along the east side facing Leechard Street to screen the building.
