Commissioners approve consent agenda; county manager announces fair opening and broadband progress

Bradford County commissioners approved the consent agenda by voice vote during their Jan. 1 meeting, with the board recording a 5–0 tally in favor.
Following the vote, the board received routine reports. The county manager said the Bradford County Agricultural Fair grand opening is scheduled for Feb. 26, 2026, at 4 p.m.; fair manager Harley Hutchinson is planning live entertainment and other activities that evening. The manager also said the county is coordinating a separate recreation grand opening around March 7 or March 14 in consultation with neighboring counties.
On broadband, the county manager reported that Cox Communications told staff it has provided internet service to more than 800 homes, likely in the Brooker area, and that multiple permit applications have been filed with planning and zoning as part of ongoing broadband work. The county attorney reported nothing to bring before the board.
Commissioners used the remainder of the meeting to offer New Year greetings and to welcome the Bradford Sports United group and its new recreation director. No additional formal votes were recorded in the transcript.
