Speakers introduced a borough parks and open-space symposium that will bring community-board parks committees together to share practices, discuss equity and highlight successful local parks, with a tentative day-long program and a live demonstration component in Prospect Park.
Organizer Mister Almanor said the symposium is supported by a coalition of government, private and nonprofit partners and asked each board to pass a supporting resolution by February or March and to designate a liaison to coordinate participation. Presenters said packet materials and a slide deck will be emailed to district managers and that each board will have two minutes to present at the event.
Next steps: organizers will email conference packets and reserve a date for the borough-wide parks day; district managers will receive information for distribution to parks committees.
