The board approved purchase of three crew mowers from Valley Plains Equipment at $17,340 each (total $52,020) and authorized purchase of a used tractor and loader from Valley Plains for $195,000, a savings compared with buying new equipment. Highway staff said the tractor/loader purchase was budgeted for 2026 and would be acquired as part of the equipment rotation plan.
Separately, the board approved a renewal safety compliance services agreement for 2026 at $19,800. Highway staff also presented a certificate of performance and final voucher for a regional hot‑in‑place recycle contract performed by Industrial Incorporated (regional contract figures read aloud); the board approved acceptance and signature authority to finalize closeout documents.
The highway items were approved as routine operational and capital items. Staff noted the county website will be used to publish highway bid lettings in addition to the official newspaper to speed advertising and satisfy auditors.
