Dare County commissioners approved the consent agenda and several board and commission appointments Jan. 5.
Consent agenda items approved included the December meeting minutes, the tax collector's report, the 2025 CRS annual PPI report, budget amendments for debris removal and emergency-management grants, and budget agreements for the 2026 election cycle.
The board also acted on several appointments: Matthew Paulson to the Albemarle RC&D Council; reappointments to the Board of Equalization; a Land Transfer Tax Appeals Board appointment (Mayor Ben Cahoon to fill an unexpired seat); a tourism-board appointment (Summer Copeland); and appointments recommended by the towns of Kitty Hawk and Nags Head to fill advisory seats. The Transportation Advisory Board and Working Watermen Commission nominations were also approved by unanimous voice vote.
