Clinton County commissioners approve routine contracts, appointments and a bridge change order

Commissioners approved several routine but consequential items during the meeting.

Bridge 60: Rick Campbell reported additional rust discovered during restoration of the historic bridge trusses near Kilmore, prompting a $140,024.14 change order. Funding will come from restricted cash balances. A motion to accept the change order passed 3-0.

County attorney contract: The board voted 3-0 to retain Tom Little as county attorney for 2026. The agreement's terms remain the same except the county attorney's pay will now increase annually in line with raises granted to the commissioners' office.

Maximus agreement: Commissioners approved a three-year contract (through 2029) with Maximus for interoffice software/integration services related to prosecutor records and office functions; the motion passed 3-0.

Appointments: The board read and approved a slate of reappointments and new appointments covering the board of health, library board, redevelopment commission, alcohol beverage board, board of zoning appeals, airport authority, drainage board, community corrections and cemetery commission. One credentialed appointment required an abstention and was recorded separately.

Sign placements, grants and claims: The board approved two sign-placement requests for a Humane Society fundraiser and Clinton County Civic Theater; the community-service grant applications received were taken under advisement and will be decided at the June 20 meeting. Commissioners approved claims and minutes and adjourned the meeting.
