Board members said expanding tourism and agritourism can strengthen the county’s small-business base and sought appointees with practical experience in local hospitality and farm operations. The vote to accept the nominations and the rest of the slate carried by roll call.
The appointments are one-year terms; the board encouraged coordination between appointees and staff in community engagement and economic development to support events, visitor brochures, and business outreach to increase tourism-generated revenue.
