The Adams County Board of Commissioners approved a variety of appointments and reappointments across county boards and departments during the meeting.
Among the actions, commissioners appointed Michael Webb to the Decatur Public Library Board for a four-year term beginning in 2026 and reappointed key county staff and officials for one-year terms, including highway leadership and department heads where appropriate. Commissioners also approved appointments to the Adams County Health Board (Dr. Mark Greslow and Dr. Emil Meyer), the hospital board (Scott Layman, four-year term) and multiple members of the Adams County Community Corrections Board (including Dr. Scott Smith, Rob Parker, Brad Weber, Jody Maywar and Jack Orel).
Commissioners handled many additional committee and board appointments (planning commission, board of zoning appeals, drainage board and others) and agreed to review staggered-term appointments where paperwork or term lengths required adjustment before finalization. Staff will collect and notarize the required forms and return signed documents for filing.
What happens next: staff will finalize forms and signatures for the appointed members. Commissioners noted some positions require follow-up to ensure staggered terms and statutory requirements are met.
