North Ridgeville City Council appointed Robert Holub to the vacant Ward 2 seat during its Jan. 5 meeting following nominations and a roll-call vote.
Councilwoman Zingali nominated Robert Holub, saying he brings municipal experience and would respect voter trust. Councilman Wolanski and Councilman Abens nominated additional candidates, including Delbert Robinson and Jason Jacobs. The council voted in the order of nominations; when the clerk read the roll for Holub the vote produced a majority in favor and the council president announced, “Congratulations, Mister Holub. You have been selected as Ward 2 representative.”
The council completed the appointment during the public portion of the meeting; no formal challenge or recount of the vote was recorded in the evening's minutes. The newly seated Ward 2 representative will assume duties consistent with council rules and local law.
