At its Jan. 5 meeting Graham County’s treasurer, Cindy Orr, reported that the county’s annual tax-deed auction produced offers on nine offered parcels plus two over-the-counter tax-deed offers; all met minimum requirements for past-due taxes, fees and foreclosure costs. The board moved to approve the tax-deed transactions and the motion passed.
The board also approved county HR’s request to retain the law firm identified in the record as Ryan Rapp/Pacheco/Sorensen to provide virtual legal counsel to the public safety retirement and corrections officer retirement boards as required under Arizona Revised Statute 38-847. Supervisors asked whether the firm would attend virtually (staff said yes) and whether costs were estimated (staff did not provide a specific estimate at the meeting).
Several appointments to local retirement boards passed by voice vote: Chairman Clay Mac was appointed to serve on multiple public-safety local retirement boards during his tenure; Julie Rodriguez was appointed as the county’s chief financial officer representative to the public-safety retirement boards; and Cindy Norris Blake was appointed as the HR representative to the same local boards. The board also approved out-of-state travel so two finance staff may attend the Tyler Technologies conference in Las Vegas, which supports the county’s recently launched electronic purchasing system.
All administrative motions passed by voice vote during the meeting.
