The Warrick County Council on an undated January meeting elected Ron Bacon president of the council after a nomination and vote that carried 6-0 with one abstention and confirmed Rob Dimmit as vice president in a unanimous 7-0 vote. The council also reappointed or confirmed members to several county boards and commissions, including the Council on Aging, Area Planning Commission, Community Correction Advisory Board, and tourism and economic-development panels.
Rick Donnerman was nominated and approved by a unanimous vote to serve as county attorney. The council approved multiple committee assignments and appointments across standing boards; several motions were seconded and recorded as carried by voice vote. Minutes for the Dec. 2, 2025 regular meeting were approved 7-0.
The council read and adopted an ordinance establishing a donation fund for Warrick County at the request of the State Board of Accounts. An unidentified county staff member described the measure as "just a request from the State Board of Accounts" for a separate fund and policy for donation-related purposes; the ordinance was recorded in the meeting as Ordinance number "20261Dash01" and passed by a unanimous 7-0 vote.
Separately, a resolution related to a private effort identified in the meeting as Project Firefly was placed on hold after the council said the company is still evaluating a building; the motion to table passed unanimously.
The council scheduled its next meeting for Feb. 3.
