Benton County adopts corrected transportation sales tax project list

Benton County commissioners adopted a corrected local option sales tax project list for transportation projects after staff clarified typographical errors identified at the public hearing. The sales tax is the county’s existing 0.5% local option levy dedicated to specified transportation projects rather than a new tax.
Staff explained corrections requested after the Dec. 16 public hearing: item 21 should be County Road 82 from County Road 13 north to Trunk Highway 25, and item 11 (County Road 84 between County Road 82 and Highway 25) was confirmed as already on the earlier authorization. Commissioners moved to adopt the list with the correction to item 21 and approved the motion by voice vote.
Staff also noted other projects discussed at the prior hearing — including project number 18 — remain on the map and project list. No changes to tax rate or duration were made during the meeting; the action was limited to project descriptions and adoption of the corrected list.
