North Ridgeville council assigns committee chairs, appoints liaisons and board representatives

At its organizational meeting, the North Ridgeville City Council announced committee chair assignments and membership for standing committees and confirmed a slate of liaison and board appointments. President Holly Swank named Councilwoman Zingali as chair of the Administrative Committee with Councilmen Paul Walensky and Katie Rogerson as members. The Building and Lands Committee will be chaired by Councilman Bruce Abens with members Clifford Winkle and Katie Rogerson. The Finance Committee chair will be Councilman Winkle, with Bruce Abens and the Ward 2 vacancy as members.

The council appointed Todd Eldridge and Wayne Fox to the Board of Tax Review for two-year terms; the transcript notes appointees may not be employees, elected officials, or contractors with the city during their term or for five years prior. President Swank moved to appoint Councilman Winkle as the council's liaison to the Planning Commission and to appoint Councilman Abens as alternate liaison; both motions were seconded and approved.

Council also appointed Councilwoman Zingali to the Parks and Recreation Commission and confirmed multiple ward representatives to the Board of Drainage and Flood Control: Ward 1 representatives Ray Ford and Paul Balog; Ward 3 representatives Norris Scott and Ken Wilson; Ward 4 representatives James Cleveland and a representative identified in the transcript with several variant spellings (JD Kankovsky/Gronkowski/Gonkoski). The council noted Ward 2 remains vacant and that appointments for that ward will be revisited once the Ward 2 council seat is filled.

Finally, Councilman Clifford Winkle was appointed to continue serving on the Community Improvement Corporation (CIC). After completing appointments, President Swank closed the organizational meeting and adjourned.
