The Lawrence City Licensing Board voted Jan. 7 to approve lodging-house license applications for three Parker Street properties submitted by MCB Development, but the board made approval contingent on successful reinspection by city and fire personnel.

Andrea Roseto and Annie Sanchez said they purchased multiple Parker Street properties in September and applied for lodging-house licenses for the addresses. Commissioners noted inspections had previously been completed in August but staff could not find the inspection records in the system; Commissioner Morales said the properties must be reinspected before any licenses are issued.

Commissioner Morales moved to consider the three applications together; Commissioner Laird seconded and the motion passed. The board approved issuance contingent on scheduling and passing the required inspections. "You don't get the license until the inspection," a commissioner said; staff advised applicants to schedule inspections with the city office the following day.

The board advised applicants that if inspections reveal deficiencies they may be required to make repairs before licensing, and the fire department offered assistance to set up periodic inspections if needed. Licensing staff said the completed application package would be issued to the ABCC or the appropriate authority after inspections and fees were confirmed.
