Lake Forest Park Municipal Court Judge Grant set bail at $500 on Jan. 7 for Tamara Lee Little Bear and directly appointed public defense to represent her. Reid Myers, defense counsel, placed Little Bear’s arraignment rights on the record and said, “We will waive formal reading and enter plea of not guilty.”
The prosecutor noted an active $2,600 warrant stemming from a Linwood theft matter and urged the court to set bail, citing multiple out-of-state history entries. Judge Grant reviewed the defendant’s record, including entries from Montana and South Dakota, and said she was “concerned” the defendant might not appear if released without conditions. The judge stated, “I’m going to set bail at $500,” and warned Little Bear she must appear for future hearings if she posts bond.
Court records and the defendant’s statements show Little Bear gave a Seattle Indian Club address for mailing and told the court she is currently homeless and staying at a shelter called ShareWheel. Reid Myers said she has limited ability to pay bail. Judge Grant noted the court would provide the written ruling and set the next appearance for Monday, Jan. 12 at 9:45 a.m. The judge also set a 60-day speedy trial deadline of March 9, 2026.
The judge said she would consider a motion for electronic home monitoring if it could be arranged but expressed concern about the defendant’s housing stability and whether monitoring would be feasible. If Little Bear posts bail, she must appear in person at Lake Forest Park Municipal Court on the return date; otherwise the matter will proceed by video.
The court confirmed the defendant’s legal name as Tamara Lee Little Bear and her date of birth for the record. The arraignment proceedings concluded with the court making notations about related out-of-jurisdiction warrants and directing staff to provide case paperwork to counsel.
