Lauderdale County Commission approves grants, MOUs, road restriction and appointments; pays $302,781 in bills

The Lauderdale County Commission approved a series of routine measures and financial items at its regular meeting.

Appropriations and grants: The commission approved appropriating $500 to the Farmers Market Fund to support a planned tomato-sandwich day and accepted an AmeriCorps Senior RSVP grant award for $60,000.

Financial compliance and bills: Commissioners approved amending the Coronavirus Rescue Act fund and general fund for compliance with federal uniform guidance for expenditures exceeding $250,000. The clerk read department bills totaling $302,781.32 (including $143,341.50 for the road department and $62,435.55 for the detention center); the commission moved and approved payment of the bills.

Appointments: Bill Todd was reappointed to the Florence-Glendale Court Authority Board (term expiration noted as July; year not specified). Jane Wilson was appointed to serve the remainder of a DHR board term, with an expiration date of 09/01/2025. Coleman Reed was appointed to the Wardell County DHR board through 09/01/2027.
