Mark Gordon called the Steele County Park Board to order at 8:15 a.m. on Jan. 6 and the board first approved adding two items to the agenda — a joint development authority (JDA) grant support letter and an item related to the dispatch program — after a motion from Gary was seconded by Chris and carried.
The board then took nominations and voted to appoint a new chairman; members voted in favor and the chair turned the meeting over to the newly appointed officer. The board also approved prior meeting minutes by voice vote.
Those procedural steps cleared the way for the board to address old business, grants and personnel matters later on the agenda. No contested roll‑call votes were recorded in the minutes for these procedural items; the clerk indicated motions passed on unanimous voice votes.
