Board authorizes up to $35,000 for inspection task order on Daleville interceptor

The Delaware County Regional Wastewater Board authorized a task order for Commonwealth to perform a physical inspection and preliminary cost estimates for roughly 1.5 miles of the Daleville interceptor.
A Commonwealth representative said the scope would cover approximately 26 structures and field work estimated at about two weeks, and provided an hourly-based fee estimate: "It came up to $34,009.49, just under 35,000," the representative said during the meeting. The inspection would document manholes, the alignment, and identify needed maintenance or capital work.
Board members discussed seasonal access and permitting considerations, including the possibility of DNR permits for tree clearing in the floodplain and the limited window for construction work given environmental constraints. Staff noted they would handle permitting separately if needed and would report back on costs for any required permits.
The board moved and seconded a motion to approve a not-to-exceed $35,000 task order and authorized the board president to sign the task order once the amount was confirmed. The motion passed by voice vote. Staff was asked to prepare the task order and distribute the packet to board members ahead of the next meeting.
Next steps: Commonwealth will prepare a task order under the general services agreement; staff will circulate the task order and related materials to board members for review prior to the next meeting.
