A supervisor asked the board to remove Robert Collins from probationary status, saying Collins “has been a great asset to the team” and that he has fit in and can operate required equipment; Collins is currently classified as Groundsman 2 and will advance to Groundsman 3 after passing a pesticide exam. The board moved and seconded the HR request and approved the removal of Collins from probation by unanimous vote.
The board also approved a travel request for Lorraine Rodriguez, a part-time police records clerk who has taken on added accreditation responsibilities. Staff described the trip as the Council on Accreditation for Law Enforcement (national accreditation) conference in Tucson, Arizona, March 10–14, 2026, with an estimated cost not to exceed $3,175. Members discussed part-time hour caps and date alignment; the motion to authorize the travel (specified dates and cost cap) carried unanimously.
