Council accepts Conservation Futures grant to buy remaining Clark Lake Park parcel

The Committee of the Whole approved acceptance of a King County Conservation Futures grant to acquire a remaining parcel at Clark Lake Park.
Brian Higgins explained the parcel is one of the last parcels at Clark Lake Park not owned by the city and that the city is under contract with King County Roads for purchase. Higgins said the city applied for and received a Conservation Futures grant that will pay the full cost of acquiring the parcel.
The committee passed a motion to accept $119,850 in levy funds from King County to acquire the King County Roads property at Clark Lake Park, amend the budget, authorize expenditure of funds, and allow the mayor to sign necessary documents subject to final terms acceptable to the Parks Director and City Attorney.
Higgins said staff are available to answer questions as the acquisition proceeds under the existing contract.
