Pharr highlights holiday events, RV-park outreach and tree-recycling plans

Gonzales also recapped a mayor-hosted pizza night at Pharr Pizza to thank children who helped with the Christmas tree lighting and a New Year—s ball drop and drone show that featured a "We Are Pharr" image; she said the event drew "over 6,000 people in attendance." Gonzales told commissioners that staff plans a Christmas tree recycling drop-off next Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at the residential collection station off Mako and urged the public to follow posted guidelines.
The communications report concluded with an invitation for staff to conduct a public survey about preferred entertainment for future events, which commissioners encouraged.
